Icelandic

The Icelandic breed is the direct decedent of late ninth or early tenth century sheep introduced to Iceland by Vikings settlers. Selective breeding from within the breed itself has resulted in sheep well-adapted to Iceland's local-environment. Genetically much the same today as 1100 years ago, the Icelandic breed is possibly the oldest and purest domesticated sheep breed in the world today.

Himalayan

Of Himalayan origin, our Himalayan sheepskin rugs are sourced from a flock within the UK and tanned in the south of England. Himalayan sheep breeds' adaptations to high-altitude conditions are of significant importance to high-altitude human settlement, providing fleece and meat products, and holding cultural importance for agriculture, religion, and people's livelihoods.

Mule

The mule breed is critical to the UK's sheep industry.

The breed's desirable traits result from breeding hill and upland ewes to Bluefaced Leicester rams. The Bluefaced Leicester is a British breed of longwool sheep known for their heavy, curly, luxurious, soft to handle fleeces, where as hill and upland ewes are typically a given region's local, endemic breed well suited to the local conditions and climate. The breed's paternal and maternal genetics afford the progeny heavy, luxurious fleeces as well as their appreciated adaptability to live and thrive across a wide variety of environments.
